Inquiry Question:"How can I use storytelling, creative writing and performance to critically discuss the choices we make and the consequences of those choices?"
Skinner Classical School and Adventure Stage Chicago partnered to analyze the themes, actions and consequences in various story genres. Through theatre and creative writing activities, Ms. Linton and Ms. Clasen's 6th grade classes explored these themes before attending ASC's production of The Blue House, by Jose Cruz Gonzalez. Students then worked in groups on scenes from various folktales including Three City Kids and The Wolf by Jack Zipes, which they performed on ASC's stage for their peers.

"Positive Impressions"
“The performance certianly left a positive impression on the students about attending and appreciating live performances! They are also more likely to pursue the reading of plays and novels upon which plays are based. The entire experience was extremely worthwhile, leaving a lasting, motivating impact.”
