Workshops begin one hour before the performance. In this hour, an ASC teaching artist facilitates interactive exercises that invite young people to explore the conflicts, relationships, and/or art-making forms in the production they are about to see. Attendees leave excited and equipped to engage with the world of the play.

For The Blue House, children and their parents will be involved in hands-on activities that involve using teamwork to solve problems and correctly sequence a story. Using Jose Cruz Gonzalez's work on The Blue House as our guide; we will be discussing images from our own dreams and how a dream can be fleshed out and adapted to become a play. We will also be exploring which storytelling elements can help make a piece culturally specific and relevant.
